Nimarata Nikki Randhawa, known today as Nikki Haley, was born on January 20, 1972, at Bamberg County Hospital in Bamberg, South Carolina. Her parents, Ajit Singh Randhawa and Raj Kaur Randhawa, were both born into prosperous families in Amritsar, Punjab, India. Despite their privileged upbringing, they left their native country in search of a better life.

Immigration and Fulfillment

The Randhawas first settled in Canada before eventually making their way to South Carolina. In their new home, both parents worked as teachers while also owning a small business. Their hard work and determination provided their daughter with a stable and loving upbringing.
